FEDERA LAKE
1) From Hotel Serena, take the jeep to Malga Federa and then hike for 1 hour, or continue by jeep to Lake Federa. You can book the jeep to be picked up:
– Directly at Lake Federa;
– At Malga Federa (midway through the journey);
– At the parking area where the road to Lake Ajal begins.
2) From Cortina, follow the directions to Passo Giau, stop at the Ru Curto Bridge, park, and follow trail 434 to Rifugio Croda da Lago (recommended!).
3) From Campo di Sotto (Cortina), approximately 3 hours. Once you reach the village by car, continue left towards the small bridge. After about a minute, turn right where the road to Lake Ajal begins, and park the car. From here, hike for 2 hours to reach Malga Federa, where you can take a break, or continue towards the beautiful Lake Federa and stop at Rifugio Palmieri.

From Passo Tre Croci, head down towards Misurina following the main road. On the right, you’ll find signs for the lake and trail 215. Park your car and follow the trail until you reach Rifugio Vandelli, and from there, continue towards the lake.
There is just one slightly exposed spot, but it has a safety rope. This path is usually suitable for children as well.
LAKE SORAPIS AND RIFUGIO VANDELLI (2h – 2.20h)
RIFUGIO SCOTONI AND LAKE LAGAZUOI
Descend from Passo Valparola and reach Armentarola, then divert towards Capanna Alpina. Once you reach it at around 1700 meters, park your car.
Take trail 20 towards Rifugio Scotoni, where you can also admire the alpacas. From the refuge, continue towards Lake Lagazuoi (approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes in total – a maximum of 2 hours at a relaxed pace).

From Passo Falzarego, take the CAI 441 trail and ascend to Forcella Averau, then continue (1 hour) to Forcella Nuvolau. Stop at the refuge.
From here, return to Forcella Averau and descend to Rifugio Scoiattoli to admire the 5 Torri, Nuvolau, Averau, and Tofana di Rozes.
Then, head back to Passo Falzarego by taking the CAI 440 trail and passing by Rifugio Col Gallina. As soon as you see the start of trail 419, don’t miss the small detour to admire Lake Limides. Afterward, return to the starting point.

RIFUGIO NUVOLAU AND PASSO GIAU (LOOP TRAIL OF ABOUT 4 HOURS)
RIFUGIO AVERAU AND NUVOLAU (APPROXIMATELY 2-2:30 HOURS)
From Rifugio Passo Giau, take the Alta Via No. 1 trail heading towards Gusela. Then, turn right onto trail 452, which leads to Forcella Nuvolau and subsequently to Rifugio Averau.
From there, follow trail 439 for about 20 minutes to reach Rifugio Nuvolau (the oldest in the Ampezzo valley, built in 1883).
You can then descend from Forcella Nuvolau via a simple path that leads to the Fedare area, and then return to Passo Giau.
From Passo Giau, take trail 443 and, when you reach the "Ferrata Ra Gusela" sign, keep to the right and continue towards the 5 Torri until you reach Rifugio Scoiattoli.
Take a break here and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Then, follow trail 439 to Forcella Nuvolau, where you’ll find Rifugio Averau.
From Rifugio Averau, follow the path towards the 452 trail, which will lead you back to Passo Giau.
GIRO DELLE CINQUE TORRI (APPROXIMATELY 4 HOURS)
RIFUGIO TONDI - MONTE FALORIA
1) From the Rio Gere restaurant (direction Passo Tre Croci-Misurina, after Alverà), park your car and take trail 212. After about 1 hour and 20 minutes, continue on the easy mule track 213 to reach the refuge (approximately another 30 minutes).
2) The refuge is also accessible by cable car. Exit the hotel, go up, and take the pedestrian path on the left. Continue for about 400 meters, and you will find the cable car.
By car, follow SS 48 and then take the road through Malga Fedarola (preferably with an off-road vehicle) to reach Rifugio Dibona. From here, continue on foot until you meet mule track 403, which will lead you to the refuge. This route offers a combination of driving and hiking, allowing you to explore the stunning landscapes of the Dolomites, with a final stretch on foot to reach the refuge.
RIFUGIO GIUSSANI - TOFANE (APPROXIMATELY 1,5 HOURS)
FANES FALLS
Drive towards Fiames (direction Dobbiaco) and continue until you reach the Sant’Umberto parking lot (on the right curve, you’ll see the entrance). From there, take trail 10 (Cascate Fanes – Travenanzes) and continue until you reach Ponte Alto. Shortly after, you will find a picnic area. Here, take the trail on the right to reach the Cascate di Fanes di Sotto (Lower Fanes Waterfalls), while the trail that continues straight leads to the Cascate di Fanes di Sopra (Upper Fanes Waterfalls).
This route offers a wonderful hike, allowing you to explore both the upper and lower waterfalls, surrounded by the breathtaking beauty of the Dolomites.
1) From San Vito di Cadore, park near Baita Sunbar and proceed on foot along the forest road that runs on the right side of the Ru Secco stream. Follow trail 226 and in about 2 hours, you'll reach the refuge.
2) Take the shuttle service to Rifugio Scotter, then follow trail 228. In just under an hour, you will arrive at San Marco.
From San Marco, take trail 227 to head towards Rifugio Galassi (approximately 2 hours). When you reach trail 229, which intersects with trail 227, start ascending towards Forcella Piccola. After crossing the pass, the path gently descends towards the refuge.
RIFUGIO SAN MARCO AND GALASSI
PASSEGGIATA LAGO DI MOSIGO (set di “Un passo dal cielo 6”)
The Lago di Mosigo is a beautiful lake located in the Dolomites, and it gained fame as a filming location for the popular Italian TV series Un passo dal cielo 6. It offers a tranquil and scenic setting, perfect for a leisurely walk.
Follow the SS 48 towards Misurina and reach the toll road that leads to Rifugio Auronzo (or take the bus). From here, take trail 101, which will first take you to Rifugio Lavaredo and then to Forcella Lavaredo, a perfect spot to admire the Tre Cime.
From here, you can:
a) Continue the loop towards Rifugio Locatelli.
Once at the refuge, follow trail 105 towards Malga Lunga, where just above, you'll find the Rienza spring and the lakes of Tre Cime. From here, the trail continues back to our starting point (westward, below Cima Ovest).
b) Turn immediately left and head towards Malga Lunga (this alternative bypasses Rifugio Locatelli and shortens the loop by about 1 hour).
Once at the refuge, follow trail 105 towards Malga Lunga, where just above, you'll find the Rienza spring and the lakes of Tre Cime. From here, the trail continues back to our starting point (westward, below Cima Ovest).
b) Turn immediately left and head towards Malga Lunga (this alternative bypasses Rifugio Locatelli and shortens the loop by about 1 hour).
